Next with the use of chipping hammer prepare the foundation cracks indicated by the yellow arrows starting at the top of the crack in the foundation working down to the foundation footing as well as the cracks in the foundation footing indicated by the black arrows the entire length of the foundation wall.

Using a trowel & what is called a slicker, the new cement will be slicked( pushed ) back into the foundation wall along with the foundation footing vertical cracks. The concrete sets - drys very quickly, with in minutes the concrete will be dressed to blend in with the existing concrete foundation.

When completing foundation repairs the new cement will not bond properly to the concrete foundation unless all of the paint is removed.
